\n<\/strong>The memorial site is set to get a spring cleaning later this month from a group of Coast Guardsmen.<\/p>\n

Aaron Wallace, a Coast Guard reservist who heads the town’s Office of Emergency Management, has organized fellow members of the local Chief Petty Officer’s Association<\/a> to clean up the site and power-wash the monument on April 17. The group is also donating flags and USCG Memorial Markers. <\/p>\n

Relatedly, Lou Cook from L.E. Cook Monuments<\/a> in Plymouth has agreed to inspect the weathered bronze face of the 82-year-old monument and give advice on what would be necessary to more fully restore it.
